About Kirsty

Woman in a dress with a camera

First things first

I believe it's important for couples or individuals to get to know their photographer before booking them. A photographer and their clients should get along well and feel comfortable in eachothers company. At the end of the day, a comfortable client = natural looking photos!
So let me tell you a bit about myself so you can feel confident in your decision to book me! :)

How I got into photography

Photography was always an interest of mine and when I turned 16 I got my first DSLR camera for my birthday. At this point I would just take photos of my friends and some standard nature shots. I ended up taking photography for A levels and began learning more advanced settings and editing techniques. A couple of years later I got my first full frame camera (if you don't know photography lingo this is basically a more  "pro camera"). In 2015 a colleague of mine suggested I start an instagram page and start posting some of my work to get more exposure. I took her advice and started also advertising to do weddings and events for portfolio experience. Since then my work load has increased each year and I now successfully run a part time photography business!

My photography style

When it comes to Weddings I prefer a more natural style to document the day as the couple remember it! I love using natural light with my favourite time being golden hour. My editing style is also very minimalist. I like to enhance colours that already exist and create a more "light and airy" effect. I shoot with Canon mirrorless cameras currently. I have always been a Canon shooter as I love the way the colours come out with this brand.
