The day began at the venue itself, where Elizabeth got ready with her two bridesmaids. Their bridal prep took place in one of the lovely rooms at Voco Oxford Thames, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere full of laughter, the perfect way to start the day. Before the ceremony, I also had the chance to take a few photos of the groom and his best man, capturing some candid moments before the ceremony started.

The couple’s ceremony took place in the charming Little Barn, which offers a warm, intimate setting for wedding vows. This was followed by a beautifully styled wedding breakfast and reception held in the light-filled conservatory. As someone who is a regular Wedding Photographer at Voco Oxford Thames, I always appreciate how this venue offers a variety of stunning backdrops, from the walled garden (one of my personal favourites) to the riverside walkways and architecture.

We were lucky with the weather, sunny skies meant we could make the most of the outdoor grounds for portraits and candid shots throughout the day. The natural light at Voco Oxford Thames really enhances wedding photos, especially in the late afternoon.

I also loved the couple’s colour scheme, a soft purple that worked beautifully with the bright and airy feel of the conservatory. Purple happens to be my favourite colour, but it’s surprisingly underused in weddings, so it was a real treat to photograph.
